Mogo Mogo Island, located in the Pearl Archipelago, is a tropical paradise that is home to a great diversity of marine life. Among the natural wonders that this place offers, whale watching is a truly magical and exciting experience. If you are a lover of nature and marine animals, this destination is perfect for you.

To get the most out of this adventure, it is important to arrive early. Check-in for the whale watching begins at 6:30 am and ends at 7:00 am. It is essential to be outside the Dolce Idea  ice cream parlor in Flamenco no later than 6:45 am to check-in and prepare for the day. At 7:10 am we will begin our exciting maritime adventure to Mogo Mogo Island.

The boat will depart from the Flamenco Amador Marina at 7:10 am heading to Isla Mogo Mogo. If during the arrival journey the crew sees whales, a special whale watching tour will be carried out before enjoying a full day on the island.

Once on Isla Mogo Mogo, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in its crystal clear waters, swim, practice snorkeling and rent paddleboard equipment to explore its coasts. The island is a true tropical paradise with white sand beaches and exuberant vegetation, where you can relax and enjoy the sun in an impressive natural environment.

The return is scheduled for 3:30 pm. The return trip from the island to the Flamenco Amador Marina takes approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, so it is estimated that we will be back around 4:45 pm. During the return tour, a whale watch will also take place, providing another opportunity to marvel at these majestic animals in their natural environment.

In case no whales have been sighted during the outbound trip to Isla Mogo Mogo, the boat will start its return at 2:00 pm to make an additional tour of whale watching during the return trip. Thus, a complete experience and the possibility of enjoying these incredible marine mammals are guaranteed.

It is important to remember that whale watching is a wildlife friendly activity and is carried out following strict conservation regulations. Tour guides and crew will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about these amazing animals and their habitat.

In addition to whale watching, a stay at Isla Mogo Mogo offers many other activities to enjoy. The crystal clear waters invite you to dive in and explore underwater life through snorkeling, admiring the tropical fish that inhabit this area. You can also rent paddleboard equipment and row along the coast, enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings and the beauty of the island from another perspective.

Notes:

  • To enjoy the activities on the island, a good physical condition and swimming ability are required. Walking on the trails is not recommended for pregnant women, elderly people with limited mobility, small children, or people with recent operations or injuries. Instead, they can enjoy the beach.
    It is not allowed to bring coolers, alcoholic beverages or prepared food to the island.
  • To preserve the local ecosystem, it is strictly forbidden to remove snails, seashells and plants from their natural habitat. These organisms are essential for the ecological balance and their removal could cause an irreversible negative impact. Let’s respect wildlife and enjoy its beauty in its natural environment.
  • It is important not to touch or eat any fruit found on the island, as some trees such as manzanillo, whose fruit is known as the “tree of death”, can be deadly if eaten. Additionally, contact with sage or milk from the tree or fruit can cause burns, dermatitis, temporary blindness, and painful blisters. Let’s take precaution and avoid any contact with these trees to ensure a safe visit to the island.
  • Because it is considered a high-risk activity, it is recommended that pregnant women consult with their doctor before engaging in it. It is important to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
  • People over 70 years of age travel on the boat at their own risk, since they do not have insurance. It is important that they are aware of this before embarking in order to make an informed decision about their participation in the trip.
  • We recommend bringing: a 500 ml bottle of water, a small snack, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, crocks or water shoes, bathing suit, towel.
